Snapper Blues
Bluefish range from the North Atlantic seaboard to the Gulf of Mexico. A migratory specie that feeds voraciously on small baitfish near rip currents. Small bluefish known as Snappers are popular with children and light tackle enthusiast.

I once read a story about youngsters that fashioned rods out of nearby reeds. The object was to see who could land the biggest Snapper blue without breaking the reed. This painting was created for Jeff Wolfer who traveled from NY to Fl to catch his first fly rod blue.

Albee
Ahi is Hawaiian for tuna. This specie the False Albacore is of lesser food quality. Albee's also nicknamed Little Tunny have made their mark among light tackle enthusiasts.

Extremely fast and hard fighting these fish can sometimes be found  in close to the beaches marauding schools of bait. They have become popular among Fly fisherman. I caught this fish one late spring morning out scouting the beaches for tarpon. A large school popped up and began herding the baitfish down the beach.
