Tandum Trout
Trout are so inquisitive. Quite often when one is hooked another is following. They may also be caught two at a time thus the name tandum rig. As with all fish being chameleons, I created this painting displaying the Seatrout in bright colors.

Bones A Plenty
The bonefish is the warious fish on the flats. He can often be found in just enough water to wet his back. Traveling in small groups to as many as hundreds larger fish are most often loners. Because of the gin clear waters in tropical climates this fish is highly sought after by flyfisherman. This fish was captured at Long Key in the Fla Keys. Weight 7lbs.

Lookdowns
I think the first time I ever saw a Moonfish or also known as Lookdowns, I was fishing at night under the Sunny Isles Intercoastal bridge. Popular along the beaches and inlets like Jacks Crevelles, Lookdowns will cruise in and out of inlets. These fish portray one of mother nature's uniquely beautiful creations. This fish was taken near the rocks off the beaches of Sarasota. Printed on Clouds Blue/white fibers.

Baby Tarpon
Tarpon are said to be millions of years old.They spawn in the ocean and the larva finds its way back to the estuary. By employing a rudimentary lung the fish is able to survive in such low oxygenated areas. This fish was caught in an area of Sarasota the fish return to after the spawn.

Red/Volcano
I was hunting for a paper that would show off a Redfish in all his glory. The sales clerk said "Jim, look and see what we just got in." When she showed me the Marble Volcano paper, I just said, "Perfect!"

Redfish/Rust Mango
This redfish was printed on rust/mango paper from Thailand.

Following The Tide
Late summer and fall are the times redfish begin to form in large schools. The big guys can be found in open water off the beaches.At this time it's possible to catch one right after the other. We found these fish feeding under large schools of bait in the inlet. I tried to let the beautiful colors of the redfish come out by printing him on rich brown paper.

Permit
The most elusive fish of the flats. It hasn't been till later in my fishing career that started fishing for the Permit. Late July is a great month for Permit on the flats. This season in Sarasota we had numerous fish in the 20 lb class on. No fish print collection would be complete without this prize gamefish!

Snook
This is the reason I turned my hobby to fishing and later a career. Some people fish for a life time without ever catching a snook. A snook is cunning and seeks the shelter of structure. When hooked he'll know right where to head.

It's this love affair of coaxing one to strike and then muscling him away from his barnacule encrusted liar that always sparks my enthusiasm. This fish was caught by Terry Blumenfield on her anniversary fishing with her husband.

Redfish
Nicknamed Channel Bass the Redfish gets it's name from the sheer tenacity which it exhibits. A highly sought after gamefish the Redfish can be either extremely easy or very difficult to catch. For me it's usually just a process of locating them. Late summer they begin to form in  large schools. That's the case of this fish. Mike Ford was calling the dealership were he worked to tell his buddy he was releasing his 15th redfish!

Jacks & Trout
Small fish and big fish inhabit the flats. Jacks as all fish seem to school according to size. Sometimes big trout can be found under a school of feeding jacks. Both fish can be caught easily using jigs with a plastic tail. These fish were caught by Timmy Fallon who was born in Japan. His father thought it appropriate that he should have a Gyotaku.

Grey Ghost
This large bonefish was taken in the Florida Keys near Islamorada. The painting is finished in a distressed white molding.

Pompano
Pompano are a prized catch in Florida. Their fight is impressive on light tackle. Generally found drifting deeper channels and passes they also frequent the deeper edges of flats. Sand fleas and shrimp are best baits. I have had them take topwater lures and flies. This one was caught on a greenback by Bob Thornton. The fish measured 19" and weighted 4lbs.

Seatrout
My love for marine life began the first time I laid eyes on a seatrout. My mind told me trout were supposed to live in freshwater. The markings were most defiantly a trout. One word describes it gorgeous. Whats more gorgeous. The way they smack a topwater lure. This is the fish Timmy caught. I used it in another painting.
